Your questions, our answers
What’s the best way to store your envelope?
To keep your shipping packaging in as good as new condition, even after long-term storage, follow these tips:
Store in a cool, dry place: The ideal temperature is 18–20 degrees Celsius. Keep away from radiators and heating pipes. Damp environments can also damage the material and weaken the adhesive closures. The ideal humidity is 50–55%.
Store flat in stacks: Don’t stack the mailing bags too high, as this can cause them to deform. If you stack too many envelopes on top of one another, they may warp or crease. Lay the mailing bags flat to prevent folds and creases.
Store securely: Dust on the adhesive reduces its bonding strength. It’s best to keep your envelopes in their box.
Keep out of the sun: Avoid direct sunlight, as UV rays can fade the material. It’s best to store the bags in a place protected from light.
Items by mail: What should you know?
The shipment may contain only the goods and related documents, such as invoices. Personal messages are not permitted
NEW: The consignment is now combined into a single item weighing up to 1,000 g. A weight surcharge can increase the permissible weight to 2,000 g.
The shipment must be marked “Warenpost” above the address.
The shipment must not weigh more than 2 kg.
Deutsche Post reserves the right to open the shipment for inspection. We therefore recommend using sample bags or other resealable packaging, such as padded envelopes or small boxes. For easy opening and closing, we recommend closures such as tear strips, sample bag clasps, cross bands, or rubber bands.
